Mr. Christopoulos, who focuses his practice on litigation and transactional matters affecting the Industry, has been an attorney since 1992. Mr. Christopoulos is experienced in enforcement matters before Local and State Commissions involving claims of over-occupancy, claims of health code violations, liquor to minor “sting” operations, denials of licenses based on deleterious impact claims, regulatory violations, and other license litigation. Mr. Christopoulos regularly handles commercial matters involving lease and partnership disputes for the Industry.

Mr. Christopoulos regularly appears before the City of Chicago Department of Business Affairs/Local Liquor Control Commission, the City of Chicago License Appeal Commission, the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, and regularly handles matters before the Circuit Court, the Appellate Court and the U.S. District Court. Mr. Christopoulos regularly represents clients in the purchase and sale of licensed establishments.

Mr. Christopoulos has practiced at Querrey & Harrow, Ltd., Vedder, Price, Kaufman and Kammholz, and as a principal in Webster Wilcox Christopoulos, P.C. and Wilcox & Christopoulos, LLC. A frequent speaker at Industry events, Mr. Christopoulos has assisted the National Restaurant Education Foundation in preparing new server training and management training courses relating to the service and sale of alcoholic beverages. He is currently a member of the National Conference of State Liquor Administrators, the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association, the National Beer Distributors Association, the Association of Beer Distributors of Illinois, the American Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association and the Hellenic Bar Association.

Specifically, her focus involves advising on licensing matters, procurement of liquor licenses, regulatory compliance, corporate matters and real estate transactions spanning the city, county, state and federal levels.

Kristina Dickens is an associate attorney at the Christopoulos Law Group, LLC, and concentrates her practice on licensing matters and license applications for all tiers of the Beverage Alcohol and Hospitality Industry. Specifically, her focus involves advising on licensing matters, procurement of liquor licenses, regulatory compliance, corporate matters and real estate transactions spanning the city, county, state and federal levels.

Ms. Dickens received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from Boise State University in 2002, her Paralegal Certificate with Honors from Roosevelt University in 2003, and received her law degree from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 2010. Ms. Dickens has worked as a real estate paralegal for Bell, Boyd & Lloyd LLP (n/k/a KL Gates) in Chicago, Illinois, where she focused on real estate transaction, title and survey work, construction loan projects and corporate matters. Ms. Dickens is a native of Chicago.

Mr. Van Den Top is an experienced corporate attorney and concentrates his practice at Christopoulos Law Group, LLC on the transactional and business aspects of the firm’s clients from all tiers of the Beverage Alcohol and Hospitality Industry. Mr. Van Den Top has significant experience in corporate matters, business formation and operations, restaurant and nightclub acquisitions), distribution agreements, lease negotiation, loan documentation, tax and estate planning and asset protection planning on behalf of individuals and owners of closely held businesses.

Mr. Van Den Top is an experienced corporate attorney and concentrates his practice at Christopoulos Law Group, LLC on the transactional and business aspects of the firm’s clients from all tiers of the Beverage Alcohol and Hospitality Industry. Mr. Van Den Top has significant experience in corporate matters, business formation and operations, restaurant and nightclub acquisitions), distribution agreements, lease negotiation, loan documentation, tax and estate planning and asset protection planning on behalf of individuals and owners of closely held businesses.

Mr. Van Den Top has practiced as a corporate and tax attorney with Freeborn & Peters and as a corporate attorney at Much Shelist. While at both firms, he specialized in advising clients on the legal and tax issues relating to structuring new businesses, ongoing business operations, reorganizations and mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Van Den Top received his LLM degree in Tax Law from Georgetown University Law Center where he excelled in courses such as corporate tax, partnership tax, international tax and structuring venture capital and entrepreneurial transactions. He received his JD degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law where, in addition to many business law and tax law courses, he was a legal extern for the Office of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service in the Large and Mid-Size Business department.

In addition to practicing law, Mr. Van Den Top has been the owner of several successful businesses. His blend of business and legal experience has allowed him to develop an excellent ability to identify clients’ legal challenges while presenting solutions to those challenges that fit in with the overall business needs and goals of an organization.

Colleen Joyce is an experienced commercial litigator who represents the Industry in local and state enforcement actions, as well as in commercial disputes. Colleen has represented entrepreneurs, small to mid-level business entities, as well as individuals in all matters related to commercial litigation.

Colleen Joyce is an experienced commercial litigator who represents the Industry in local and state enforcement actions, as well as in commercial disputes. Colleen has represented entrepreneurs, small to mid-level business entities, as well as individuals in all matters related to commercial litigation. Colleen’s versatile litigation experience includes insurance and corporate defense matters, title litigation, will contests and estate litigation, administrative proceedings, landlord/tenant disputes, mechanic’s liens, products liability, professional liability, employment, and personal injury litigation where she has handled cases from initial office consultation to bench trial and arbitration including drafting pre-trial motions, oral argument, written discovery, taking depositions, client counseling, settlement negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, supplementary proceedings, and state and federal appellate litigation. Colleen’s experience extends to general corporate and transactional matters such as forming and dissolving commercial entities and drafting operating agreements, advising on commercial transactions, administrative and local government matters, employment agreements, zoning and land use, and providing general representation and consultation regarding business strategy and all aspects of various commercial undertakings in a practical and cost effective manner.
Colleen’s appellate court accomplishments include prevailing on a habeas corpus petition before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Colleen obtained a Juris Doctor, Cum Laude from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science, Summa Cum Laude from Bradley University. Colleen was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2004 and the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois in 2008. Colleen is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the Peoria County Bar Association.
